Oasis win top music prize

OASIS have been honoured with a lifetime achievement prize at the Silver Clef
Awards.

The GALLAGHER brothers and their ever-changing line-up have proved
beer-swigging, hip-swaggering and the occasional obscene finger gesture can
nab you the top industry accolade.

The legendary Britpoppers share the trophy - which is awarded to raise funds
for music therapy charity Nordoff-Robins - with PAUL WELLER and U2.
Other winners at the London ceremony included THE FRATELLIS,who
picked up Best British Band following in the footsteps of last year's
winners SNOW PATROL.
